FMSE: An A+ School of Excellence!

On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary (FMSE) was recognized as an A+ School of Excellence! This hard-earned award was presented by the Arizona Educational Foundation (AEF) as “a way to identify, celebrate, and recognize educational excellence in schools throughout Arizona.”

FMSE was commended for holding all the traits that the AEF values schools to have. This includes traits such as a strong commitment to academic excellence and being supportive of students and community whether it be during or after school. Ultimately, it is given to schools that go above the mark and continue to do so every day.

An award ceremony was held where students, teachers, and district leaders gathered to celebrate. Several prominent school figures gave speeches on the A+ School of Excellence award, including Superintendent Dr. Perry Berry, Board Member Patty Campbell, Principal Sherry Towns, and an AEF official. A performance was also given by FMSE choir students, who let their excellence shine.

Dr. Berry congratulated the students and staff for all their hard work, amplifying that “this award is a testament to the relentless pursuit of academic excellence and student success.” FMSE is a relatively new school and continues to grow in numbers and in excellence. A round of applause to FMSE!
