Crismon High School’s (CHS) softball team is among the first few championship wins for the Queen Creek Unified School District’s newest high school. Consisting of 14 players, this group of athletes once competed in the previous championship game last year, only to receive runner-up. The winning of their championship this year was due to determination, supportiveness, and commitment to the game.

“We did change a little bit this year versus last year,” says softball coach Robert Hehe. “We were the runner-up last year. So for this year, we created a little more structure during practices and a little more discipline so that they were held accountable for whatever was going on.”

For Delia and her teammates, winning the championship will not only be a memorable moment from this school year, but it will also be a stepping stone to the next goal in mind.

“To me, this is just a small win,” says Delia. “I’m just gonna stay humble and not use it as an excuse to think I am better and should win the high school championship next year.”

Both the team and Coach Hehe were honored and recognized at the January District Board Meeting, where they were offered congratulations by Superintendent Dr. Perry Berry, the School Board Members, and other leaders in Queen Creek Unified School District.

“I would like to congratulate the Crismon High School Girls Softball team, for going undefeated their whole season and winning the East Valley Conference Championship,” said Dr. Berry.
