Queen Creek High School's Shaun Hardt Named NFHS Girls Track and Field National Coach of the Year 2022–2023

Queen Creek, Arizona – Shaun Hardt, head coach of Queen Creek High School's girls track and field program, has been honored as the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Girls Track & Field National Coach of the Year for the 2022–2023 season. Hardt emerged victorious among seven other finalists nationwide.

In his remarkable 21-year tenure at the helm of Queen Creek's track & field program, Hardt has coached over 240 meets, achieving top-three placements 95% of the time. Leading both girls and boys teams, he boasts 120 invitational victories and numerous state championships, including three for the girls' team. Hardt's dedication extends beyond track and field, having also coached basketball, football, and baseball at the school.

Reflecting on his coaching journey, Hardt expressed, "Athletics is not just about competition and winning but a journey that shapes one’s character, fostering qualities that extend well beyond the playing field, and empowering individuals to become better versions of themselves."

The NFHS, recognizing coaches since 1982, selected Hardt through a rigorous evaluation process, making him the twelfth national coach of the year from Arizona since the 2016–2017 school year.
