Mountain Trail Academy Set to Open Summer 2025, Welcoming Students to a New Era of Learning

Queen Creek Unified School District’s newest school, Mountain Trail Academy, is rapidly approaching completion. Construction progress has been remarkable, with the interior work fully finished. Painting and signage have been installed throughout the campus, bringing the vision for the school to life. In the coming weeks, furniture deliveries will begin, further preparing the learning spaces for students and staff.
Mountain Trail Academy is scheduled to open for the 2025–2026 school year this summer. QCUSD is excited to offer several upcoming events for families to learn more about the school and engage with the Mountain Trail Academy community:
- Tours on Tuesday will begin on May 20, 2025. While tours are available by request at any time, Tuesdays will offer a consistent, convenient option for families. Details will be shared on social media and through district communication channels.
- Kindergarten Round Up will take place on June 12, 2025, at Mountain Trail Academy for families of incoming kindergarten students.
- MTA Playdate will be held on June 17, 2025, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. Families are invited to bring their children to enjoy the playground and meet members of the community in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
- A virtual parent question and answer session is planned for June 25, 2025 (time TBD), providing a convenient opportunity for families to ask questions and learn more about the school from the comfort of home.
QCUSD would like to extend its sincere appreciation to the partners who have helped bring Mountain Trail Academy to life. The state facilities division, SLP, and McCarthy Construction have been instrumental in the design and construction process, and we are grateful for their expertise, collaboration, and dedication.
On May 13, the MTA staff hosted a Mountain Trail Academy kickoff party, which was a resounding success. Principal Erin Pillsbury, along with teachers and staff, welcomed a large number of families eager to learn more about QCUSD’s newest school. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the curriculum, meet staff, and learn about enrichment opportunities through community education. Many families enrolled on site, signed up for the parent teacher organization, and participated in engaging STEM activities hosted by Newell Barney College Prep students. The event marked an exciting milestone as Mountain Trail Academy prepares to open its doors this summer.
“The atmosphere of MTA will be a place where staff, students, and parents collaborate to create a supportive environment,” shared Principal Erin Pillsbury.
