Eastmark High School (EHS) has recently earned the Arizona 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) School Honor Roll Recognition for the second year in a row. This esteemed award recognizes the hard work of Eastmark High School teachers and students, and can be seen in their students’ AP results. The recognition is based on criteria related to AP exam participation and success.
Only nine percent of qualifying Arizona Schools earned a Bronze AP School Honor Roll Award. To prepare students, teachers work and build up skills throughout the school year. “We support our students by starting small and building the skills over the course of the school year. We don’t expect them to be ready for the test right away. And so we build their skills and build their confidence. Then we often give them full practice tests so they can know what the test feels like before ever stepping into the testing room,” stated an EHS AP teacher.
“This award is incredible for our school because it means that we have a large group of students who are taking multiple AP classes in their high school career and are finding success!” When asked what the recognition means to them, a second AP teacher said, “As teachers, we are pushing students to challenge themselves, but also providing the tools for them to be successful with their challenge, and that means the most to me; that is why I became a teacher.”
Another teacher proudly added that this achievement shows that students can accomplish whatever they put their minds to. “Our students can rise to any challenge that we set before them, that they desire to learn at high academic levels, and that they are willing to put in the time, effort, and energy that it takes to achieve a qualifying score on the AP tests to get a head start on their college degrees.”
AP students are prepared for testing and ready to rise to the occasion, thanks to the teachers and staff at EHS. As stated by one teacher, “We just need to challenge them to do it!”
