A child is eligible for admission to kindergarten if the child is five years of age by August 31 of the current school year. If a child turns five between September 1 and December 31 of the current school year, he/she is eligible to apply for early kindergarten entrance testing.

Yes! We have half-day options at all of our elementary schools, with the exception of Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary.

Kindergarten students will have comprehensive and challenging instruction in academic core areas such as reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

Students will also have college and career exploration opportunities, music classes, physical education courses, and before and after-school enrichment programs.

Yes! Registration for early testing begins in January. Early-entrance kindergarten testing dates for the 2027–2028 school year will take place on June 9 and June 10, 2027, with the final testing date on July 5, 2027.

If the child turns five (5) between September 1 and December 31 of the current school year, they are eligible to apply for early entrance testing. Testing will be administered in a classroom/group setting. Testing will include academic, classroom readiness, interpersonal & self-regulation skills, and fine motor skills. All results are final.

Testing will last approximately one hour. Parents/guardians must stay on site until the testing is complete. We will not permit parents/guardians in the testing classroom.

Please fill out the Early Entrance to Kindergarten form. Once your registration form has been submitted, you will receive an email confirmation with the testing information and a payment link. The non-refundable registration fee is $75. The testing fee must be paid prior to the testing session.
