Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month highlighted how Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) is preparing students for success by connecting learning to real-world skills, career pathways, and hands-on experiences. Across QCUSD schools, students are gaining
confidence, certifications, and clarity about their futures through CTE programs.
Students consistently shared how CTE makes learning meaningful. “It makes everything feel real, not just something from a textbook,” one student explained. Another noted that CTE helped them realize, “I can actually see myself doing this as a career.” Through hands-on projects, competitions, and performance-based learning, students are developing skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
CTE programs also provide opportunities for leadership, collaboration, and professional growth. “CTE gives us chances to compete, lead, and learn what working in a real career field is like,” a student shared. These experiences help students build communication skills, confidence, and a strong sense of responsibility, qualities that employers and colleges value.
Whether students are earning industry-recognized certifications, performing at a high level, or preparing for careers in healthcare, education, or the arts, CTE empowers them to explore interests and discover their strengths. “CTE helped me figure out what I want to do after high school,” another student said.
By offering high-quality CTE programs, QCUSD is ensuring students graduate with more than academic knowledge; they leave with practical skills, real-world experience, and a clear path forward. CTE Month served as a reminder that when students learn with purpose, they are
better prepared to succeed in whatever comes next.
