Celebrating Music In Our Schools: Crismon High School Choir Shines

Crismon High School Choir on stage

As Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) continues to celebrate Music in Our Schools Month, we turn to the talented students of Crismon High School’s choir program. QCUSD is proud to offer Fine Arts opportunities that nurture creativity, self-expression, and collaboration among students.

For many choir members, the program is a place to grow and connect. Avery B., a Crismon High School choir student, joined the program out of a love for singing and theater. "I just think it's a great opportunity that we have here," Avery said. She enjoys how the choir incorporates movement into performances, adding, "This year, we get to do the song Kaleidoscope Heart with body percussion. It’s fun to perform different types of things, not just singing."

Brooklyn R. another dedicated choir student, has been singing for nearly six years and values the strong sense of community within the program. "I love singing, and it's such a great environment. Everybody’s so friendly, and it's amazing to see how music comes together," Brooklyn shared. She also appreciates the different age groups, which creates mentorship and friendships across grade levels. "You have seniors and juniors to look up to, and that’s really fun."

Bria R., who also participates in theater, joined the choir to explore various musical styles. She enjoys the structure of the program and learning three different songs each quarter under the guidance of Mr. Lloyd. "Choir isn’t always people’s first choice, but I’d encourage students to give it a try. A bigger group means more opportunities for classes and performances," Bria explained.

QCUSD remains committed to providing students with enriching Fine Arts experiences, and Crismon High School’s choir program and teacher, Mr. Lloyd, is a testament to the impact of music education. If you or your student is interested in developing their musical talents, enroll today for a high-quality education in Arts and beyond.
