Crismon High School’s Ryland Johns Wins Leader of Tomorrow Award
Sophomore Ryland Johns, president of Crismon High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club, has received the prestigious Leader of Tomorrow award at the annual Queen Creek Hometown Hero awards luncheon. This award, given to a young individual who shows promise and leadership potential, reflects the positive impact Ryland has already made in his school and community.
Ryland has embraced his role as FBLA president with eagerness. “The club is about building leadership skills and confidence,” he said, adding that FBLA has already helped him with future endeavors. Under the guidance of Mrs. Tapia, the club has seen rapid growth and is gaining the attention of students interested in leadership. “The club only started up last year, but it's already made a big impact. For me, it has definitely helped,” Ryland said.
Ryland credits FBLA as the driving force behind his award. “I wouldn’t have gotten the Leader of Tomorrow award without FBLA,” he remarked, acknowledging how the club has pushed him outside his comfort zone. His role as president has helped him develop leadership skills and gain confidence. “It’s one thing to just be part of a club, but being in a leadership position, it makes you step up.”
Looking forward, Ryland is optimistic about his future, with college at the forefront of his mind. He believes his experiences in FBLA, along with the confidence this award has instilled in him, will play a key role in his future endeavors. Though still undecided on which college to attend, Ryland expressed interest in Northern Arizona University and is excited to take what he has learned to college. Congratulations to Ryland Johns!
