Celebrating the 100th Day of School: Milestones and Achievements

As the 100th day of school approaches on January 13, we celebrate this significant milestone and the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and parents who make Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) exceptional. This day marks the halfway point of the academic year and provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress we’ve made together. In Arizona, the 100th day also plays a crucial role in determining school funding for the following year, making it an essential part of planning for our district’s future.

The 100th day of school is a significant milestone, marking the district's official enrollment count and celebrating all that students have learned and accomplished so far. Looking back, QCUSD has had an incredible first half of the year: 11 out of our 13 eligible schools earned an “A” rating, enrollment grew to over 15,000 students, and we’ve seen countless examples of student success.

Each QCUSD school celebrates the 100th day in its own unique way. Last year, Mrs. Belvado’s class at Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary dressed up as the 101 dalmatians and put their detective hats on to solve a mystery. At Desert Mountain Elementary, teachers and students embraced the theme by dressing up as if they were 100 years old. Across all campuses, creative activities centered on the number 100 brought students and staff together for a day of fun and learning.

QCUSD extends heartfelt gratitude to the teachers, staff, parents, PTOs, and volunteers whose hard work and dedication make our district a thriving community. Your efforts are the foundation of our success and growth, allowing us to continue delivering excellence in education.

As we look ahead to this year’s 100th day of school, QCUSD is excited to celebrate this milestone and all it represents. We hope students reflect on their achievements and approach the rest of the school year with the same determination. This year is especially momentous as we prepare to celebrate Crismon High School’s first graduating class.
