QCUSD Honors Veterans: Eastmark High School

Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) is proud to honor the veterans who serve our students and community. At Eastmark High School (EHS), two outstanding veterans, Principal Chris Webb and Master Sergeant Jeffrey King, bring their military experience and leadership to the next generation.

Master Sergeant Jeffrey King serves as the Naval Science Instructor for Eastmark High School’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (NJROTC). After graduating from high school, King joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served for 23 years.

“When you go to Marine Corps boot camp, you serve for the people that you work with,” states King.

Throughout his military career, King developed extensive leadership and instructional skills, attending leadership schools and learning how to train others. Today, he brings that knowledge directly to his students.

“What I bring here is that I have the background of actually instructing Marines how to do things,” King said. “And I bring that expertise here to the school.”

King also shares stories from his time in the Marines, including his experience as a paratrooper, giving students a glimpse into his military service.

Eastmark High School Principal Chris Webb also brings his military experience to campus. Webb served four years in the United States Air Force as a military police officer. He joined the Air Force because he saw it as a valuable career opportunity and wanted to serve his country.

One of the greatest lessons he carried into education was the importance of organization and preparation.

“One of the main skills that I brought back was learning how to be organized and prepared,” Webb shared. “It has helped me be a coach, a teacher, and a principal.”

Webb said his time in the Air Force was meaningful, not only because of the skills he gained but also because of the people he met along the way.

“I really value the four years that I served in the United States Air Force. I met a lot of amazing people who were great leaders for me and really shaped my life.”

Through their service in the military and continued dedication to education, King and Webb demonstrate the lasting impact of leadership, commitment, and service. QCUSD is grateful for their service to our country and for the positive influence they continue to have on Eastmark High School students.
