Desert Financial Queen Creek Schools Education Foundation Donation

Desert Financial Credit Union (DFCU) illustrated the company’s commitment to its local communities with a generous donation of $10,000 to the Queen Creek Schools Education Foundation (QCSEF). The donation was presented at the grand opening of their new branch in Queen Creek, making sure to give back to the communities they serve.

At the grand opening, chief engagement officer at Desert Financial, Laura Wallace, stated DFCU’s deep-rooted beliefs in supporting local communities. Desert Financial was founded by teachers and educators 85 years ago, and the goal of making a positive impact still stands firm in its values today. Wallace expresses how “we love doing random acts of kindness in our communities.” 

This donation will have a profound impact on QCSEF, as Governing Board Vice President Samantha Davis expressed how this money will directly benefit students and teachers within Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD). Teachers will receive grants that will allow them to enhance experiences within the classroom. This donation will also go towards student scholarships to give them a “leg-up” as they embark on their higher educational careers.

Partnering with businesses within QCUSD’s community strengthens the bond between schools and communities. Direct impact is seen as contributions that come from Queen Creek and benefit those in Queen Creek. Jeff Meshey, president and CEO of Desert Financial, mentioned how this partnership reflects a shared commitment to the educational growth and development of QCUSD’s students.
