Queen Creek Unified School District's 2022 Award of Excellence Winners

The Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) is honoring high-performing teachers and employees for their dedication and service. The third annual QCUSD awards of excellence ceremony took place on Thursday, April 28 where one teacher and one support staff member from each school and the district office received awards after being nominated by their peers and selected by a committee.

The district also named its educator of the year and support staff member of the year. Cara Price, a college and career specialist from Queen Creek High School, won support staff member of the year, and Ashley Callahan, a resource specialist from Frances Brandon-Pickett Elementary, won educator of the year. The following individuals won awards of excellence:

  • Capri Heintz - 4th Grade Teacher (FMSE)
  • Courtney McGarry - Data Specialist (FMSE)
  • Ashley Callahan - 2nd Grade Resource (FBPE)
  • Heather Gilbert - Media Aide (FBPE)
  • Kelli Gordon - 1st Grade Teacher (GPA)
  • Tara Yarbrough - Reading Specialist (GPA)
  • Rebekah Lowe - Music Teacher (JBE)
  • Lissette Stone - SPED Instructional Aide (JBE)
  • Richard Lanzone - PE Teacher (KMBE)
  • Katie Allen - Admin. Assistant (KMBE)
  • Luke Ray - 4th Grade Teacher (QCE)
  • Donna Waters - Admin. Assistant (QCE)
  • Shalyn Rosales - 3rd Grade Teacher (SE)
  • Johnny Melendez Marin - Lead Custodian (SE)
  • Melody Romero - 1st Grade Teacher (SVE)
  • Megan Patriquin - Reading Specialist (SVE)
  • Megan Perry - Science Teacher (NBJHS)
  • Eleen Smith - Attendance Specialist (NBJHS)

QCUSD Superintendent Dr. Perry Berry hand-delivered invitations to award-winners last month.
