At Queen Creek Elementary (QCE), students are surrounded by a team of educators who go above and beyond every day to create a nurturing, engaging, and inspiring learning environment. QCE has a strong sense of community and is a place where teachers not only
educate but also empower students to become confident, independent learners.
Kindergarten teacher Angie Cummins is one of many dedicated teachers who define Queen Creek Elementary. “I loved working with kids,” Cummins shared. “As a teenager, I was in child development classes, so I just thought this was the best fit for me.” Her passion for teaching began early and continues to grow as she helps her youngest learners take their first steps in education.
Cummins’s classroom is a vibrant, welcoming space designed with her students in mind. “I try to make it kid-friendly for my students, so very vibrant. A lot of colors and also just welcoming. This is their safe space,” she said. Her goal is to help students become independent by instilling confidence to think and act for themselves. “I try to teach my students independence. I want to make sure that when they leave my class, they are independently working for themselves and also advocating for themselves.”
Beyond the classroom, Cummins appreciates the unity among staff. “My favorite thing is that we are a family,” she said. “If you need anything, you can go to a coworker. It’s very family-oriented.” That spirit of teamwork extends beyond the school walls, with a supportive community that values teachers, staff, and students alike.
Families choose Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) because it truly feels like home.
