Across Queen Creek Unified School District, schools came together to remember September 11, 2001, honor those who served and sacrificed, and help students reflect on courage, compassion, service, and unity.
Desert Mountain Elementary (DME)
DME students took part in age-appropriate learning activities across campus, building their understanding of the history and significance of September 11.
Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary (FMSE)
FMSE students honored 9/11 through learning, reflection, and gratitude. Sixth graders learned about the courage of first responders and wrote heartfelt thank-you letters to firefighters at Florence Fire Station #2. Kindergarteners explored themes of courage, hope, kindness, and helping others through books, conversations, and hands-on projects.
Frances Brandon Pickett Elementary (FBPE)
FBPE Mustangs showed their Patriot Day spirit by wearing red, white, and blue while reflecting on the values of kindness, courage, community, and helping others.
Gateway Polytechnic Academy (GPA)
GPA second and third graders focused on hope and resilience as they read The Survivor Tree. Students learned how strength and hope can grow even after difficult times.
Jack Barnes Elementary (JBE)
JBE students combined remembrance with a celebration of those who serve. First and second graders learned about the heroes of 9/11, while students across campus marked the anniversary with red, white, and blue, memory chains, and recognition of first responders.
Kathrine Mecham Barney Elementary (KMBE)
KMBE honored local heroes by hosting a first responders breakfast, giving students and staff an opportunity to show appreciation for those who serve our community.
Mountain Trail Academy (MTA)
MTA joined the district in a moment of reflection, remembering those lost on September 11 and honoring the heroes whose courage and sacrifice brought communities together.
Queen Creek Elementary (QCE)
QCE marked Patriot Day by reflecting on the lives lost, the heroes who served, and the resilience that followed. Students were encouraged to carry forward the lessons of courage, compassion, service, and remembrance.
Schnepf Elementary School (SES)
SES welcomed local first responders onto campus for a special 9/11 commemoration. Students had the opportunity to see and thank some of the community heroes who continue to serve.
Silver Valley Elementary (SVE)
SVE filled its halls with red, white, and blue as students and staff came together to show their American spirit and honor the meaning of Patriot Day.
Newell Barney College Prep (NBCP)
NBCP observed the 25th anniversary by joining in remembrance of those lost, honoring first responders and others who sacrificed, and reflecting on the unity and strength that followed.
Queen Creek Junior High School (QCJHS)
QCJHS joined the district in recognizing the 25th anniversary of 9/11, encouraging students to remember the lives lost while reflecting on the courage, service, and compassion demonstrated in the aftermath.
Crismon High School (CHS)
CHS commemorated the anniversary with a 9/11 assembly centered on its core values of character, humility, and service. Students reflected on the resilience of the nation and honored first responders, military members, and everyday citizens who demonstrated extraordinary sacrifice.
Eastmark High School (EHS)
EHS Navy JROTC cadets played a central role in the school’s remembrance ceremony by presenting the colors. Through their discipline and respect, the cadets helped honor fallen heroes and carry forward the promise to never forget.
Queen Creek High School (QCHS)
QCHS created a missing man table in the front lobby through its JROTC program. The display provided a meaningful visual tribute to the brave men and women who lost their lives and invited the school community to pause, remember, and reflect.
