Honoring Our Heroes: Queen Creek Unified School District Schools Commemorate Veterans Day

Schools across Queen Creek Unified School District came together to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Each campus held special Veterans Day celebrations featuring student performances, heartfelt speeches, and moments of reflection. From assemblies and concerts to parades and breakfasts, students, staff, and families united in gratitude to show appreciation for our nation’s heroes and the freedoms they protect.

Desert Mountain Elementary
Desert Mountain Elementary hosted a schoolwide Veterans Day assembly in the gym. Students heard from a United States veteran guest speaker, learned about the significance of the day, and performed patriotic songs to honor those who have served.

Frances Brandon-Pickett Elementary
Frances Brandon-Pickett Elementary held a school-wide Veterans Day assembly in the gym led by student council, with a special performance by the 3rd grade. Veterans were recognized and presented with a small token of appreciation, and a veteran guest speaker shared their story.

Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary
Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary honored local heroes during an outdoor Veterans Day assembly on the basketball courts. Fourth-grade students performed patriotic songs, and a guest veteran speaker addressed the students about the meaning of service and sacrifice.

Gateway Polytechnic Academy
Gateway Polytechnic Academy’s 4th grade presented a Veterans Day music assembly for veterans and their families. The PTO also provided a “Grab and Go” breakfast to thank and celebrate those who have served.

Jack Barnes Elementary
Jack Barnes Elementary presented a Veterans Day concert featuring a performance by 1st grade students. The event included a slideshow honoring veterans connected to the school community, and attendees received a small token of appreciation.

Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary
Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary hosted a school-wide Veterans Day assembly in the gym, featuring musical performances by each grade level. Families and veterans attended and enjoyed a special breakfast following the assembly.

Mountain Trail Academy
Mountain Trail Academy celebrated Veterans Day with a special assembly featuring a choir performance, remarks from student council, and inspiring speeches from local veterans.

Queen Creek Elementary
Queen Creek Elementary hosted a large-scale Veterans Day assembly featuring performances from every grade level, as well as the high school band, cheer team, and color guard. Members of the local American Legion Riders made a special entrance, and a veteran guest speaker shared remarks. Veterans were recognized individually and presented with a small gift, followed by a breakfast for veterans and their families.

Schnepf Elementary
Schnepf Elementary held a Veterans Day assembly featuring a performance by 4th grade students and leadership involvement from student council members. Veterans and their guests were invited to attend this meaningful celebration.

Silver Valley Elementary
Silver Valley Elementary hosted a Veterans Day assembly with performances by 2nd grade students and participation from student leaders. The Eastmark High School JROTC also took part in the ceremony, and breakfast was served for veterans and guests.

Newell Barney College Prep
Newell Barney College Prep honored veterans with a breakfast in the library, followed by an all-school flagpole ceremony. A “Wall of Honor” recognizing student and staff veterans was on display throughout the day.

Queen Creek Junior High School
Queen Creek Junior High School hosted a school-wide flagpole ceremony featuring guest speaker Veteran Dennis Garner. The event included a presentation of the “Fallen Comrade Table,” which remained on display in the school lobby for the day.

Crismon High School
Crismon High School (CHS) held a Veterans Day celebration to honor local heroes. CHS students served breakfast to veterans as a gesture of gratitude, accompanied by musical performances and a small token of appreciation for those in attendance.

Eastmark High School
Eastmark High School (EHS) hosted a Veterans Day breakfast and recognition program to honor members of the EHS community who have served. A display featuring photos and stories of EHS veterans was showcased on campus.

Queen Creek High School
Queen Creek High School commemorated Veterans Day with a campus-wide parade followed by a ceremony at the flagpole, honoring those who have courageously served our nation.
