Crismon and Eastmark High Schools Celebrate New Academic Wings

Crismon and Eastmark High School Ribbon-Cutting Ceremonies

On August 13, Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD) proudly hosted ribbon-cutting ceremonies at both Crismon High School and Eastmark High School, marking the official opening of expansive new academic wings designed to support learning, fine arts, and athletics.

At Crismon High School, 37,678 square feet of new space—including 23 state-of-the-art classrooms and a new weight room—was unveiled. Principal Elyse Torbert called the project “both an end and a beginning,” noting that while the completion represents the culmination of years of planning, it also ushers in new opportunities for students. “This wing is not just a collection of classrooms; it is a space where our educators will inspire, challenge, and support the next generation of learners,” Torbert said.

Eastmark High School celebrated the addition of 62,500 square feet, featuring 22 classrooms, a dance room, choir room, band room, expanded main gym, new weight room, and wrestling room. Principal Chris Webb expressed deep gratitude for the community’s support and partnerships that made the expansion possible. “These spaces are essential for our students, providing the tools and opportunities they need to grow, create, and excel in the programs they love,” Webb shared.

In both ceremonies, Superintendent Dr. Perry Berry emphasized that while QCUSD is proud of its modern, state-of-the-art facilities, the district’s true strength lies in its people, dedicated educators, engaged families, and community partners. “Our district is special because of the people who occupy these facilities… we employ some of the finest educators in Arizona,” Dr. Berry said.

The projects were made possible through the collaboration of QCUSD leadership, the Governing Board, Grace Design Studios (Orcutt Winslow), CORE Construction, and the Arizona School Facilities Division. QCUSD Governing Board President Samantha Davis reflected on the district’s rapid growth, sharing that she has participated in more than a dozen ribbon cuttings in her tenure. “We do not take these moments for granted… we are very grateful and blessed to have been able to grow and expand our district during these times of hyper growth in our community,” Davis said.

These expansions stand as a testament to QCUSD’s commitment to providing exceptional learning environments and fostering partnerships that benefit students today and for generations to come.
