English Language Learner Program

The English Language Learner Program (or ELL Program) empowers multilingual learners of all cultural backgrounds to experience academic success and feel connected to their school community by providing academic support in the classroom. We recognize that ELL students are valuable members of our education community and that all school staff members play an active role in ensuring the success of our multilingual learners.

Junior high and high school students that qualify for language development services will be scheduled into a structured English immersion (SEI) course. The course is designed to support English language acquisition and developing the language skills necessary for students to access grade-level academic instruction. Instruction is provided by an ESL, BLE, or SEI endorsed teacher. Eligible students participate in the course during a scheduled class period and receive elective credit for successful completion. For more information about eligibility, course placement, or scheduling, please contact your child’s school.
