Crismon High School FBLA Sweeps at State Leadership Conference

Crismon High School's (CHS) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attending the Arizona State Leadership Conference

Crismon High School’s (CHS) Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the Arizona State Leadership Conference earlier this month. Fifteen students competed in various leadership categories and had the opportunity to network with other students from all around the state. CHS earned the highest honor of platinum, and students placed in seven events, including individual, testing, chapter, and team categories.

Vice President Jada Beasly earned “leader” the second level of the Business Achievement Awards and was honored with a pin and certificate, along with Vice President Aaditya Patel earning “contributor”.

Mrs. Tapia, FBLA advisor for CHS, earned an honor for her ten years of service with FBLA. Teachers Mrs. Jacqueline Lopez, Mr. Beasley, Carlos Tapia, and community member Jennifer May attended to serve as event judges on the school’s behalf.

CHS students went home from the competition with Eleven Top Ten Finalists, showing the hard work and commitment they put into the conference.

Congratulations to the following:

  • Kamya McNeal / Isabella Merdick-Lopez / Isabella Schultz – 2nd place for their community service project called “Rattlers Dress For Success” and secured their nationals spots.
  • Jada Beasley / Desiree Bobo / John McLaws – Presented the Local Annual Chapter Business Report and brought home glass for CHS’s chapter.
  • David Nguyen – Business Communication.
  • Dylan Glass / Sebastian Mattson / John McLaws – Management information systems role play.
  • Kamya McNeal / Isabella Merdick-Lopez / Isabella Schultz / Carlos Trujillo / Aaditya Patel – Parliamentary procedure team and chapter officers, who conduct our meetings using Robert’s Rules of Order and conduct a mock meeting to show off skills.
  • Sebastian Mattson / John McLaws – Software design in introduction to programming.
  • Isabella Merdick-Lopez / Kamya McNeal – Earned fifth honor with “Magic Full Ride Bags” business plan.

Four finalists in each category will compete in San Antonio, Texas, this summer as members of the Arizona delegation.
