Excellence Through Leadership: Engage, Empower, Excel

Legislature Updates

The budget presented by the governor of Arizona provides the baseline for how public school systems, including Queen Creek Unified School District (QCUSD), receive their funding. The current proposal may force QCUSD to cut critical services that are vital to the health, safety, and academic excellence of our students.

Although the governor's proposal is not final, it is important for you to understand the issues and become involved. Our legislators have a very difficult decision before them as they try to work with limited funds to meet the many needs within our state.

Please join our efforts and become involved as our legislators begin voting on important issues that impact our schools. Take action by sharing your concerns with how the budget will impact our students.

In addition, you can access the legislature's Request to Speak System to make your voice heard on important bills impacting public education. Simply complete this form, and Expect More Arizona will set up an account on your behalf. Once you are able to log in, click on the "new request" on the left hand column, search either by the bill numbers or by selecting the education committee. When you see the bills listed, make sure to click "add request" to leave your comment. Do not forget to list your affiliation as a parent, community member, or constituent when leaving your comment.
