Home of the Wildcats      2008-2009 HIGHLY PERFORMING SCHOOL

Welcome to Queen Creek Middle School

Welcome to Queen Creek Middle School!  We are truly excited to start our new year with all of Queen Creek’s fifth and sixth graders. The staff, administration, and district office have been working hand-in-hand in preparing for your children to become Wildcats!  We have updated our library with district support, spending eight thousand dollars on new books for our new students.  We are putting in tetherballs in our main courtyard, fencing in the back of the school, and the staff have been diligently working on curriculum that will meet the needs of all of our students.  Our new school colors are black, royal blue and silver!  In April, the staff began their first meetings and focused on our Hopes and Dreams for our school.  We hope to create an environment where students are engaged and learning, students are excited to come to school, parents and our community are involved and we are all working together to provide a positive experience for all involved! We have created families of teachers and students for both 5th and 6th grade. Students will be assigned a teacher who will be assigned to a particular family.  Each family will ability group students for Language Arts and Math to best meet the needs of the students. This will provide a great opportunity for students to be challenged at their level.  All students will participate in two days of music and Physical Education each week as well as library once a week.  We are also excited to let you know that both fifth and sixth graders will be taking art every other week for forty-five minutes alternating with technology! Students who are interested and who have requested to be a part of our band and orchestra program will also receive one hour a week of instruction. Also for the first time in Queen Creek, Queen Creek Middle School proudly welcomes Queen Creek Unified School District’s after school Community Education program.  This program is designed for our fifth and sixth grade students to participate in activities and programs that will keep them involved at Queen Creek Middle School.  A flyer is enclosed. I am also enclosing a copy of the suggested supply list and the school dress code for students as you are out doing your school shopping this summer.

Sincerely, Julie Niven
