Description: This course is an elective course. The students in this class are the governing board. They will be responsible for the smooth running of the school activities. Students will approve all club activity which occurs on campus, assemblies, fundraisers, blood drives, and more. Students must be energetic, positive, motivated, and willing to go the extra mile in service to their school and peers. Community service is also required for ALL students each semester! Students must be positive role models on campus and can/will be removed for poor academics and/or behavioral issues.

Attendance: Since you are responsible for school activities, it is absolutely necessary that you attend every class session. Decisions are difficult to make when there is no quorum. Grades are given on class participation, therefore, it is important to be in attendance. For every 3 absences, students will be asked to complete l hour of extra community service time to make up for work missed in class. This does not include school related absences.

Grading: It should be understood that just being an elected official you do NOT get an automatic A. To be fairly evaluated there will be several requirements that must be met to obtain a grade for this course. The following will be used to determine this:

-Peer evaluations by your own committee members.

          -Weekly assessments by instructors.

-Participation in activities outside of the classroom (homecoming, spirit weeks etc).

-Community service each semester (20 hours)

-Written reflections/papers from class lessons (2-4 per month)

-Portfolio containing proper paperwork from ALL committee/class work

All grades are viewable on Snapgrades at https://snapgrades.net.  Grades will be updated once a week by the teacher and parents are encouraged to monitor the progress of their students.  Please check Snapgrades before contacted the teacher in regards to a grade.
