Woodworking I

Students will create projects in a safe environment using state of the art equipment. Writing pens, bookshelves, cars, and other projects will allow students to explore their creativity while practicing safe work habits in a shop environment.  Students will learn how to design projects. They will be challenged to learn how to measure and efficiently use materials.

Woodworking II

Students will create a various compliment of projects. They will build on the skills learned in previous woodworking class. Students will create high quality projects like entertainment centers and chests. Woods II students will assist in preparing materials for the woodworking classes. They will be involved with schools projects as they come up. Offsite projects like building storage sheds or working with Habitat for Humanity on housing projects will be conducted by some of the Woods II students.

Woodworking III

Woodworking III will use the learned skills from Woodworking II and provide a more in-depth learning. Student projects will be larger and longer in duration and students will have more opportunity to direct their own work.  Skills will be used in an ongoing project for non-profit agencies, subcontract work, and a school exhibit. Furniture will be constructed in these classes. Students will be required to work with local businesses and community organizations to help develop customer service skills.  Membership in SKILLS-USA is part of this class.
