 Attendance:  Since full and active participation is essential for success in this course, regular attendance is required.  School policy will be adhered to regarding tardies and unexcused absences. 

 

 Grading:  Semester points are cumulative and will be assessed on all classroom assignments.  Late work is not accepted for students who are present in class; according to school policy, students with excused absences have the number of days absent plus an additional day for the to make up assigned work.  Any work assigned prior to their excused absence is due upon the day of their return.

 

 Grading Scale: A= 90%; B=89-80%; C=79-70%; D=69-60%; F=59%

 

 Student Expectation Plan:

1. Be on time and prepared.

2. Respect people and property.

3. Follow directions.

4. Bring school supplies to class.

5. Follow all school rules.

 Film/video policy:

Advanced notification will be provided to student when course content related films will be shown.  Parents have the right to request that their child not view any movie or video, regardless of its rating or the purpose for which it is to be shown. 

 

 Consequences:  “If a student chooses to break a rule”

First Offense:                Documented Warning/Conference with student

Second Offense:          Notification of Parent/Guardian by teacher

Third Offense:               Written Referral

 

 In addition:

· All students must wear their school ID’s at all times.

· All school ID’s should be visible and without defacement.

School policy on cheating and plagiarism will be adhered to.
