 We use the Houghton Mifflin reading series, supplemented with Metra and Spalding.  Phonics & sight words will be taught.

We also enjoy a daily reading and story time.

 

Please read to your child at home every day!

 

 

 

Show and Share

 Each student is assigned a day of the week to bring in an item from home to “show and share.”

 

We’re gaining confidence to speak publicly, and learning to become a polite audience.
Text Box: There are many opportunities for parents to assist in Ms. King’s class. Parents may choose to help in the classroom for an hour or so by assisting small groups with projects.   Parents may also help at home by tracing or cutting items and sending them back to school with their child. Please speak with Ms. King to volunteer! Text Box: Due to budget constraints, the buses for field trips must be funded by parents’ donations. The Kindergarten is asking for a $25 donation for the year. Your generosity is greatly appreciated! Checks should be made out to QCE and given to Ms. King. This is in lieu of grade level fundraisers for the year.

 

 

WRITING

 

Please remember when helping your child to practice writing their name, only the first letter should be a capital.

 

Writing words, sentences and simple stories  will be a frequent focus .

 

Correct letter formation for handwriting will be emphasized.
