**Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on Tue. & Thurs.

School Starts at 8:15 am

 

Lunch and recess is from: 11:00 to 11:40

 

Students will be dismissed at

2:45 pm

Due to budget constraints, the buses for field trips must be funded by parents’ donations.  The Kindergarten is asking for a $25 donation for the year.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated!  Checks should be made out to QCE and given to Mrs. Rutherford.

This is in lieu of grade level fundraisers for the year.

MATH

 

The Scott Foresman math series focuses on:

 

· Numbers 1– 100

· Patterns

· Shapes

· Skip Counting

· Sequencing

· Graphing

· Sorting

· Coin Recognition

· Addition

· Subtraction

· Etc.

 READING

 

 

We use the Houghton Mifflin reading series, supplemented with Metra and Spalding.  Phonics & sight words will be taught.

We also enjoy a daily reading and story time.

 

Please read to your child at home every day!
Text Box: WRITING  Please remember when helping your child to practice writing their name, only the first letter should be a capital.   Writing words, sentences and simple stories will be a frequent focus .   Correct letter formation for handwriting will be emphasized.

This spring we will be hatching chicks in our classroom!  This is a unique activity for Mrs. Rutherford’s class.  We learn all about the lifecycle of a chicken, and have fun with these fluffy feathery friends.  We can’t wait for you to join us in this experience, and to share our chicks with the other classes here at Q.C.E.!
