Enhanced Learning Program- (ELP) - The Gifted Program

Welcome to the ELP– Enhanced Learning Program– Gifted Program for Queen Creek and Desert Mountain Elementary Schools!!!

The Enhanced Learning Program is a program for students who excel in the classroom and need added instruction.  The students are pulled out of class one day a week according to grade level.   Mondays are grade two, Tuesday is grade three, Wednesday is reserved for grades Kindergarten and First Grade.  Thursday is grade Four and Friday is grade Five.

ELP testing is done three times a year– in August, January or April. Referrals are done by teachers or parents. The students are given an ability test and must score in the 95th % or higher  in any one given area.  The 95th– 97th %  is considered probational placement and is revisited as necessary.

The project for the first quarter revolves around animals. The students picked an animal from a list of selected animals and are doing various projects revolving around their interests. We will then have an parent sharing to showcase our efforts.
