Board members present : Del Caron, Seneca Johnson, Jody Rodine, Michelle Hunt, Kris Wells, Kristen Dawson, Quincy Nelson, Bill Schultz, Teresa McQuade, Sharon Erwin, Mary Elrod, and Patty Campbell

1. Treasurer report from Teresa
2. Book Fair, volunteer status, assign Feed and Read duties and set budget

4. Start putting together 6-8 volunteers for Pork Shop Brat Fest Oct. 28 th

Meeting :
1. Balance: $10,215.78
T-shirt sales: $734.25 profit
Fall fundraiser: $ 9,064.36
2. Goal for Book Fair this year is to reach $10,000.00. Still in need of volunteers for Book Fair. At this time, we are still expecting to have the book fair in the library unless one of the other rooms becomes available.
Feed and Read- Wed. Sept. 27 th 5-8p.m. : Quincy will pick up the beef, buns, chips and soda. Kris will pick up cookies. We are planning on feeding 250 people. A motion of $500 was made and seconded. $500 approved. The Chik Fil A wheel will be available and plans to contact the D.J from last year was discussed. Have T-shirts available.
Need to contact Shirley in front office to provide names for the special auction.
3. Teresa updated us on the Grandparent's Day photo background. Lori will need a large piece of cardboard, not wood, to do the animal and rainforest theme. We will charge $1 for pictures. PTO donation box, T-shirt table, and chic fill a wheel will all be available.
4. Pork Shop Brat Fest Oct. 28, 2006 . Currently have 6 volunteers.
5. Mary presented the idea of a petting zoo/pony rides through a company. The expense is not in the budget to use this company. Quincy will send out a newsletter asking for parents interested in providing animals for a petting zoo at Coyote Fest to contact Mary Elrod.
Quincy will also check into borrowing a tractor and flat bed trailer to do hayrides.
6. Jody Rodine will speak with teachers at the next staff meeting about game booths for the Coyote Festival.
7. Coyote Fest Leads: Set-up : Patty and Mary. Kitchen : Sharon and Quincy. Budget of $600 was approved for kitchen items. Tickets and wristbands : Kris, Sheryl, and Michelle with an approved budget of $100. Chili cook- off : Kristen with a $25 budget for a gift card prize and two coupon books for two other prizes. Clean up : Everyone. Prize and booth set up : Teresa with an approved budget of $500.
8. Chik Fil A wheel will be available on Grandparent's Day 9/26/06 , Feed and Read night 9/27/06 , and for Spirit Night 9/27/06 . 10% of proceeds (including drive thru) from Spirit Night will go to our school.
9. Ideas were discussed as to where the festival funds should go. These items will be voted on at the next executive meeting.
10. Contest will end on Oct. 6, 2006 so that we can turn in by the end of Oct. 2006. So far Kristen has mailed in approximately 1,000 box tops. This has given us $100. Have much more to send as the contest goes on. Safeway is now handing out redemption certificates for any qualified grocery purchases. Please send those to school.
11. Sharon would like to have a taco bar for the teacher's dinner in Oct. She will need help with food donations as we get closer. She is preparing for 50 teachers.

Meeting :
1. Ms. Henrikson: Transparency table $143.96 (instead of field trip).Approved
Ms. Johnson for Ms. Fredman: writing programs to benefit grades 1-5. $181.00 Approved.
Mr. Johnson: 1 year subscription to Story Works for all of third grade (90 students currently) $583.00. Sheryl has approximately 200 vouchers from scholastic that she may be able to apply toward this request. More research will go into helping Mr. Johnson. Not approved at this time.
Ms. Nottingham: Listening Center for each 1st grade class (4 total). Approved with a cap of $650 including tax.
Ms. Jack: Had a variety of requests that will be presented at another time prioritized.

3. Rainforest theme: Wild About Books. Profits from the book fair all go to the school library. Grandparent's Day will be Wed. Sept. 26, 2006 from 11a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

6. Del announced that Mary Elrod will take over as the new PTO president the first meeting in December. Del is running for the school board.
7. Mr. Schultz presented: The Boys and Girls Club is fundraising for a facility. They would like help with Bids for Kids which takes place on 11/18/06 . We would need to put together a themed basket of our choice that would be auctioned off at the event. Another way to help is to decorate a tree that will be auctioned off at the town hall tree lighting ceremony. No votes or budgets were made.
