Meeting:

1. Coyote Fest was a success for the kids of Desert Mountain with the help of the many needed volunteers. A big “Thank you” goes out to all who helped make the festival fun for the kids and help raise money for the teachers! Compared to last year's numbers, we had less families come and therefore less money was made- approximately $1,000.00 difference.

$5,311.63 Festival income

-$3,302.13 Festival expense

-$88.00 chik-fil-a wheel money for 5 th grade field trip fund

--------------------

*$1,921.50 Coyote Fest profits (to be divided among the teachers who participated)

$3,046.01 was made by our Fall Book Fair to the library.

Current balance: $3,498.59. Projected income and expenses for the year were also discussed. At this time, 1 st grade listening center and AR invoices have not been presented.

Patty and Teresa will start working on Fall fundraiser tax receipts next week.

2. We have counted a total of 30 teacher participants involved with Coyote Fest. The division of profits rounded up came to $65.00.

Left over prizes will be used as AR incentives. Ideas for next year's Festival will be discussed at a later meeting.

3. Quincy will add the school district's website on her next newsletter to the parents of Desert Mountain . She will also send out an update to teachers regarding the PTO policy regarding business participation at PTO functions. PTO functions are to benefit our teachers, classrooms, and ultimately our students.

4. All grade levels will require help with funds for field trips this year. At this time, Mr. Schultz may contribute $800.00 to each grade level. Most likely, fifth grade may no longer need more “wheel” money to help fund their trips. Ms. Dase will be sending out tax credit information to all fifth grade parents in hopes of fulfilling their funding needs.

5. On Tues. November 7 th (election day) we had another Spirit Night at Chik-Fil-A. Our school will receive $210.04!!!

Patty discussed a Spring Walk-A-Thon fundraiser to take place Sat. March 3, 2007 from 8am to 4pm . (This event will take place prior to Spring Break). Each participant will need to raise money for a straight donation or for a pledge per lap completed. At this event outside vendors are welcome to set upa table. A fee of approximately $150 for a sign or $300 to put their company logo on the T-shirts will be available. One month prior to the event, there will be a pep assembly to get everyone geared up for donation/pledges contest. Prizes will be awarded at the beach themed Spring dance Wed. March 28, 2007 . The Spring Book Fair will also be in full swing that week.

6. Santa Pictures will be Thur. 12/14/06 from 9-12:30pm . Kris and Teresa will be Santa Picture leaders. The charge will be $3.00 and siblings are welcome to take pictures together.

7. Thursday, Dec. 7 th , Desert Mountain will have a spirit day all day at the Barros at Power and Queen Creek. 20% of D.M. sales will go back to our school! Customers will need to state that they are from Desert Mountain and their teacher's name. Their will be a contest per teacher. No coupons accepted and pick up, dine-in, and delivery all qualify. Kristen will try to obtain “order tonight stickers” to remind everyone of Spirit Night.

Kristen will try to secure January 24, 2007 from 3-9pm with Cold Stone Creamery on Power/Germann for Spirit Night in January. ALL SALES during the 6hour window will go to our school. We may earn 20% of sales up to $500 and 30% if sales exceed $500. Posters and balloons will be decorated within the shop.

8. The presented opinion that most teachers would most likely attend PTO meetings if the time was moved back one hour. Not all teachers live close to Desert Mountain and find it to be a long day with the current meeting time. Could we move the time? Some current members would not be able to attend meetings any earlier. Our current time allows for late-working parents to attend and the meetings occur only once a month. No resolution to change meeting times were made.

9. Santa's Shop will be run exclusively by the Student Council and Mrs. Shurtz.

Meeting adjourned: 7pm

Next PTO meeting: Tues. 12/12/06
