6:15 p.m. meeting was called to order.

For Meet the Teacher Night, PTO has been asked by the front office to provide dinner for the teachers.  All members agree to prepare a potluck style dinner.

Resolved:   Each member will bring in a dish and two 2 liter bottles of some variety of drink.  We have enough paper products in the PTO storage room except cups.   Del will provide the cups.  The dinner must be at the school by 4p.m. for teachers and other staff members to have an opportunity to have dinner before the meet the teacher event from 5-7p.m.

Del believes that we have an outstanding balance of $740 for the fall festival rides and $800 for the shirts.  We will get a report from Teresa at the following meeting on definite balances.

Fall fundraiser thermometer display will go up in front of the school on July 19 th .

Meet the Teacher Night events and stations were discussed.

Resolved:   In the gym there will be a variety of stations for parents to pick up information regarding transportation, lunches, etc...  The PTO will have Kristen at one table with her fundraising information, Patty and Mary will be working the Chick Fil A wheel while Quincy will be accepting donations and selling school shirts.  There will also be a table for t shirts and donations in front of the music room for other members to rotate from selling shirts, being a concierge, runner, or taking a turn at meeting their child's teacher.

All members have volunteered to help with am/pm duties the first week of school.

Sheryl presented the theme for the fall book fair: “Reading Rainforest – Wild for Books”.  The book fair will held in the library this fall.

Kristen requested $35 (including s&h) to purchase special boxes for each classroom.  These boxes are for the deposit of box tops for cash and Campbell soup labels.  Kris motioned and Sharon to second the motion.

Mr. Schultz recommends that the PTO purchase a shed of some type or have one built to store PTO items.  The current storage room is going to become a bathroom.  This needs to be cleared out by the October break.

In light of the monsoon madness events put on by the town over the summer vacation, Mr. Schultz would like to see if we might possibly start having Spring carnivals.

Grandparent's day has been pushed back to Tues. Sept. 26, 2006 with a rainforest theme.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
