Ice Cream Math +/-Timed Tests

This year your child will be taking daily timed math facts test. We call this “Ice Cream Math.” For each level of facts that your child passes, he/she will earn a piece to an ice cream sundae. Each student starts on facts of two. When a student passes 30 facts of two addition problems that student will attempt 30 facts of two subtraction problems the following day. If subtraction is passed successfully, the student earns his/her first part of his sundae and moves on to facts of three. There are 8 levels to pass (there is no level 1). The class is given 1 min 30 seconds to pass 30 math problems. We start at the very beginning of the year and test until the end of the year. At the end of the year we will hold an End of the Year party and eat our ice cream sundaes! The levels to the sundae are listed below. Because we will work on this the entire school year whatever level a student has worked to by the last testing date is what he/she will be given at the ice cream party.
