Classroom Routines

Entering the classroom in the morning

1.  Walk into the room quietly.

2.  Place your backpack on a hook.

3.  Place your folder in the “Folder In” box.

4.  Quietly sit at your seat and wait for instructions.

 

Selecting Your Lunch Choice:

1.   Read the lunch options for the day.

2. Move your clip to the lunch you would like.

3.  Sit at your seat.

 

Getting Students’ Attention:

1. Teacher will ring the bell.

2. Students freeze.

3. Listen to teacher’s directions.

 

Pencil Exchanging:

1.  Place a broken or dull pencil to the “Pencil Out” cup.

2.  Take a sharpened pencil out of the “Pencil In” cup.

3. Return to your seat.

 

Asking or answering a question during class:

1.  Raise your hand.

2.  Sit quietly.

3.  Wait to be called on.

 

Finished Work Early:

 1. Finish any other unfinished work.

 2. Select a quiet activity: reading, writing, math facts practice.

 

Bathroom/Drink/Nurse Trip:

1.  Sign out in the log.

2.  Take the pass with you.

3.  Only one boy and one girl will be allowed to the bathroom at a time.

 

Lining Up:

1.  You will line up in number order any time we leave to or from somewhere in the school.

2. Line leader and door holder will always line up first and second.

 

Walking Through the Halls:

1.  Stand with your hands at your sides.

2.  Put your feet on the third row of squares from the wall.

3.  Keep your mouth and feet quiet so you don’t disturb others.
