Text Box: Spelling:  This week’s spelling list will be homophones.  The words are:  tail, tale, plane, plain, sail, sale, to, too, two, hole, and whole.  The bonus words are:  threw and through.  Students who  score 100% on Monday will be vacation from taking the test this week only.  There is a practice test on Wednesday, and the final test is on Friday.

Reading:  We will be reading a story called Carousel.  We will predict outcomes, make inferences and judgments, and re-read for understanding.  The vocabulary words for this week are:  chapter, character, problem, and solution.
Text Box:  Math:  We will begin Chapter 10:  Numbers to 1,000.  We will count by hundreds and add and subtract numbers in the hundreds.  We do math facts daily.  The students have 1 minute to complete 30 problems.  They should be at the facts of 8  by the end of April to meet expectations on the report card.

Writing:  We will focus on word choice, organization and details in our writing.   We will also begin a review of items the students will be tested on for the Stanford 10 (Terra Nova replacement test) 
in April.

Text Box: 	We will use our time the first week back to prepare for the Stanford 10 test on April 14 and 15.  After the test we will begin a study of China, Japan and India.  We will also study Westward Expansion and the properties of Matter.

Text Box: 	In Computers we will research on the internet.  Students are given the last 15-20 minutes of computers each week to catch up on AR tests.  Everyone must sign up for a test each week to reach their AR goals.  At the end of the quarter those students who have met their AR goal will get a free breakfast donut from me to celebrate their accomplishment!!!
