Spelling: The spelling words for the week will be short e sound.  The words are:  sell, men, yes, pet, fresh, red, tent, ten, bell, and get.  Bonus words are:  settlers, Thanksgiving, November, gobble, and  turkey.

 

Mathematics: We will be finishing our section on geometry.  The students will be learning how to slide, flip, and turn shapes, create an organized list, and review all concepts to prepare for their test.

 

Reading: . Go Away, Otto is the title of our next story.  In the story the family is getting ready for Grandma to come.  Otto is the youngest member in the family.  Fred, the older brother gets upset because Otto makes a mess.  Many kids can relate to this story being either the older or younger child.  The students will be learning how to summarize a story.  The sight words for the week are:  children, come, family, father, love, mother, people, picture, your, black, clock, Fluff, and plan. 

 

Music Program:  All the first grades will be having a music performance on November 18th at 6:00 in the evening.  Students need to be in our classroom by 5:30 to get ready.

· Thurs. Dec. 10th—PTO Meeting at 6:30 in the library
